Visiting Manitou Springs, Colorado
It's an eclectic hippy style town that's easy to fall in love with.
When you get the opportunity to travel, you’ll discover places you like and places you love. There are just certain cities or cultures that really speak to you. Visiting Manitou Springs in Colorado two years ago was our first experience, and it’s why we’ve returned this year.
Why you might fall in love with Manitou Springs.
If you’re looking for a town that has that loving and accepting vibe, Manitou Springs is your huckleberry. Situated in the shadows of Pikes Peak, this eclectic community offers many fun experiences. Whether you like to drink craft beers, shop for artisanal products, or watch people from all walks of life, you’ll enjoy your visit.
Peaceful atmosphere
One of the most significant benefits of visiting Manitou Springs is its relaxed, peaceful lifestyle. There is no hustle and bustle, plus you won’t be overwhelmed by touristy traps like other places. It’s a great place to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Friendly people
Being surrounded by happy and accepting people will make your trip a positive experience. Manitou Springs is filled with some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet. They’re welcoming to the AARP and LGBTQ community, dog lovers, hipsters, crazy tourists, and a beer-thirsty traveler.
Incredible food
Traveling full-time is hard work and you’re gonna build up an appetite for some local grub. Manitou Springs offers a wide variety of food options, including Manitou Brewing Company, Mavi Kebab and Turkish Doner, Townhouse Sports Grill, and Adams Mountain Cafe, as well as numerous sugary, unhealthy treats.
Creative art
One aspect I value most about traveling is being able to discover and support local artists. Many shops are selling handmade pottery, paintings, and other artwork. You’ll not be disappointed in this area.
Outdoor vibe
While you can choose to spend your time in all the shops and eateries, why would you? The outdoor setting is relaxing, especially if you get a great view of the mountain. Nothing beats getting out and breathing in the fresh air!
Healing spring waters
I’m not going to tell you to flock to the healing spring water stations to be cured of coronavirus or debt, but these are pretty cool places to stop and get a drink of refreshing water. It’s a free and fun activity for all.
Manitou Springs should be on your travel list.
If you’re going to go to Colorado, then visiting Manitou Springs should be a must-see on your list. It’s hard to find such a cool town that has the right combination of vibes and offerings, while keeping the touristy exploitation to a minimum. We’ve now been here twice, and I’m sure we will go back and stay longer next time.
