Yes, I know that South Canadian River and all those other under-water-brush-consumed-water-moccasin-infested rivers. And, I still went in also. Not now though; I feel lucky to have cheated death a few times. These days, it’s the milder adventures over the wilder adventures. And you know what? I still get the same high feeling from today’s quieter adventures. And no injuries or hangovers! 🤣
The old bridge by Tri-City on I-44 was the party place for us. I have a lot of stories from there. It was hit by a tornado years ago and only one section still stands. And yes, so much danger on that river.
I'm old and I love my adventures. Fortunately there are plenty of even older outliers in my mountain town. I surround myself with them instead of the other kind!
I’ve met some great older people who impress me with their adventure pursuits and they inspire me to keep going as long as I can. Maybe one day we’ll find a tribe like yours!

My motto these days is go slow, live longer. LOL!
Those are great words for today, but your experiences are great words for writing on Substack. And sharing from a bar stool 😂
Thank you!
I've always said that I'm amazed you survived your youth. ;) I'm so glad you did and so glad we're living an amazing adventure together!
